Ford has announced that the all-new and dead sexy 2017 F-150 Raptor truck will take on the 2016 Best in the Desert off-road racing series. The Raptor will run in the factory stock class using the production platform that includes a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, 10-speed transmission, and torque-on-demand transfer case.

The truck sports a long travel off-road race optimized suspension. Plus, its combination of aluminum and high strength steel means it is more robust in high-speed off-road conditions than the outgoing model. The truck is also 6-inches wider than a standard F-150 for stability.

The Raptor also comes with dual exhaust and Ford Performance 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels. Mods to make the truck race ready include race optimized shocks, optimized front and rear spring rates, a roll cage, MasterCraft racing seats, LED light bars, GPS, and a RacePak digital dash.
