Lincoln has unveiled the new 2017 MKZ. The new car is very attractive, and a great change from the outgoing design, thanks to a dramatically redesigned fascia – inspired by the Continental Concept. Bye bye, whale tail.

The best news isn’t that the car looks good on the outside, but that it gets an exclusive 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine under the hood that makes 400hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. That’s a full 100 horses more than the current 3.7-liter V6 top end model.

All that power and torque goes to the ground via an AWD system that should deliver nice acceleration and performance. Buyers who want something more frugal can also get the car with a FWD 2.0L GTDI hybrid system making 245hp.

Buyers who opt for the Driver’s package will get dynamic torque vectoring to help cornering performance. A few of the options offered include a fully retractable panoramic glass roof, and a 20-speaker Revel audio system. Adaptive cruise control is available and can completely bring the car to a stop in traffic. Lincoln also will offer bespoke Black Label interior packages with in-home design consultations

The car will go on sale in summer 2016 with pricing announced closer to launch.
