2022 Subaru WRX Gets a New GT Trim

Subaru has revealed its new 2022 WRX sports sedan. The car is powered by a 271 horsepower 2.4-liter turbo Bozer engine that makes 258 lb-ft. of torque. The engine can be paired with a six-speed manual or a new performance automatic transmission offering faster up and downshifts. In addition, versions fitted with the automatic can get optional EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.

2022 marks the first year the WRX has been built on the Subaru Global Platform, offering reduced noise, vibration, and harshness. The 2022 WRX is available with 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels that are fitted with summer performance tires.

One of the more interesting things Subaru has done with the new WRX is to reveal a WRX GT featuring electronically controlled dampers tunable to Comfort, Normal, and Sport settings. Drive Mode Select also has options to configure steering feel, damper settings, SI-Drive settings, and more.

The WRX’s interior gets a Starlink tablet-style 11.6-inch full HD center information display. The screen offers controls for multimedia, HVAC, and vehicle settings. Pricing and performance stats remain unannounced at this time.
