Of all the kit cars and replica cars available, there are a few that I would like to own. I’d like to have a Cobra, a Porsche 356, and a Lotus 7 replica. I’d hoon the crap out of all of them at the racetrack and generally make a nuisance of myself.

New legislation is headed to the U.S. House of Representatives that will make it easier for manufacturers to step into the world of low-volume production. If approved, the “Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015” (H.R. 2675) would create a new category of regulations for low-volume automakers making replicas of classic cars.
Currently standards hold these low-volume carmakers to the same standards as the big automakers. If approved, the new category would allow low-volume makers to offer up to 500 turnkey cars without making buyers have to complete assembly themselves.
