Last week, I was fortunate enough to attend the Midwest Automotive Media Association’s (MAMA) Spring Rally at Road America. Arguably the finest sports car to turn up for the track portion of the event was this beautiful Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. It was especially nice to see the car in a color other than yellow this time.
Unlike most of the cars we find for our Carspotting feature, I actually got to take this bad boy around the track, and it was undoubtedly the best and fastest car I drove out of the 100+ vehicles on hand for the occasion. Rocking a 4.0L, 503hp twin-turbo V8, the AMG GT S sounds as good as it looks, and was the car to beat around Road America this year, combining impressive power and European handling prowess in a stunning package.
