Driver Puts Googly Eyes on His Helmet, Perfect for LeMons Racingzoom in

It’s hard for the uninitiated to understand just what it feels like to be in a car driven at race speed on track. Track novices often think they drive really hard on the street and will dominate the track. Then they go out with an instructor on a 40% effort warm up lap and nearly stomp a hole in the passenger side floorboard and pull a plug of foam out of the seat with their clenched butt cheeks. Other than the free track time, this is pretty much the only reason most instructors instruct.

To give viewers a sense of what its like inside his race car, Mark Hedlund put a camera inside his car during a Pirelli World challenge race this past weekend. To make things even better, he

I predict the googly eyes on the helmet visor will become the new norm at the 24 Hours of LeMons and ChumpCar racing events around the world. Rightfully so I think, this is pretty cool. I’m going to the googly eye store. Be back later.
