Even Volvo Is Looking at a 300+ HP AWD Hot Hatchzoom in

I’m going to call it: we are at the dawn of a golden age of hot hatchbacks. We have the Fiesta ST, the Focus ST, the Focus RS, the GTI, the Golf R, the Golf R400, the 500 Abarth, the Mini Cooper JCW, the Audi RS3, the Veloster Turbo, and the Ferrari FF in the US alone. Across the ocean, there are tons more. Lots of them are even pumping out 300 or more horsepower, and have some of the power going to the rear wheels… and it’s amazing.

Now it looks like Volvo might be jumping in on the fun with a 315 horsepower V40 Polestar sporting a Haldex AWD system. It’s unlikely that this would be sold in the states, but I’d still be happy to see it exist at all. Now I only have one question: why the hell isn’t the WRX a hatchback?
