Ford Confirms the 2022 Maverick Hybrid is Sold Out

If you have been thinking about ordering the hybrid version of the 2022 Maverick small pickup, it’s too late. Ford North American marketing manager Mike Levine has confirmed that the entire production run of Maverick Hybrid trucks for 2022 has now been reserved.

That means anyone wanting this small, highly fuel-efficient, electrified pickup will have to wait until order banks open for the 2023 model next summer. While there’s no indication of how production will run for the Maverick hybrid next year, I’m hoping that supply chain issues will ease and that Ford can build significantly more trucks.

The Maverick Hybrid proved to be extremely popular with buyers, much more so than the more readily available EcoBoost version of the truck. The big draw for the Maverick Hybrid was that an entry-level FWD version could be had for under $20,000 before adding in the destination charge. It’s also capable of over 40 MPG in the city while doing truck stuff like hauling 1500 pounds in the bed or towing a small camper or boat.
