You know that it’s truly becoming a global economy when Ford starts selling Mustangs in the UK. 2015 is the first year that’s happening, so what better way to celebrate than by taking a pony car to the hill at Goodwood?

But this isn’t any old ‘Stang, no. It’s the new Shelby GT350R, packing more than 500 flat-plane V8 horses, sports suspension, brakes, and slimmed down thanks to a hefty dose of carbon fiber. And behind the wheel of said car is none other than the former Stig, racer Ben Collins.

It’s a little squirmy out of the starting gate with all of that rear-wheel drive power, but Ben quickly gets the car under control. In fact, he might just be doing that to warm up the tires. The sound the car makes as it winds its way to the top of the iconic hill is nothing short of spectacular, and it’s a joy to watch. Ironically, the GT350R won’t be sold in Europe, and is a U.S. exclusive – at least for now.
