I’ve owned a Hyundai in the past and I can say the only thing appealing about the car was the low price. Hyundai has yet to make anything that appeals to the sports car guy in me, but that may be changing with its new N Brand. A report is making the rounds that the head of the N brand wants to make a car that will fight directly against the Ford Focus RS.

This is great news indeed, because the Focus RS is a very appealing car to me and just about every other gearhead. Word is that RS-fighting N model could make 345 hp and have AWD to boot. N brand head Albert Biermann (formerly of BMW’s M division) has said that his team has already been looking at the Focus RS and its torque-vectoring AWD.

Sadly, the first N Brand performance car will be FWD only, but hopefully a proper AWD rally car is now in the works.
