One of my dream cars has always been a Lotus Exige. I was more than a bit mad when the Exige was pulled from the U.S. Lotus has now unveiled a new Exige 360 Cup car, which is a factory racer that is eligible for all Lotus Cup race series.

The mid-engine car has a 3.5-liter V6 making 355 hp, a 10 hp improvement over the standard v6 Cup. The car weighs in at 2,491. That is just about 100 pounds more than the new Mazda MX-5, but with more than 200 extra horses. That power is mated with track suspension and a track aero package. It will all add up to an incredibly fast car for track work.

Options include adjustable anti-roll bars, Ohlins dampers, a fire extinguisher, electrical cut off, and FIA carbon seats. AC and a removable steering wheel are options. Clearly, it can be driven on the road in Europe. Alas, it’s not offered in the U.S. The Exige 360 Cup is selling for £62,995 in the UK, or about $98,500.
