Like many of us, Magnus Walker fantasized about fast cars as a kid. One in particular: the Porsche Turbo. Now a hugely successful fashion entrepreneur, movie-location mogul and automobile restorer, Magnus can afford to chase his passions wherever they lead him.

And one passion was tracking down the original Porsche Turbo, released in 1975. Back in 1977, as a child, Magnus had travelled with his father to the Earls Court Motor Show in his native England, and a white 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo captured his eye more than even a Bo Derek poster could have. Despite an auspicious career as a Porsche collector and restorer, Walker had never been able to acquire the car that started it all: the first-year 1975 Porsche Turbo.

Until now. Reaching out all the way from Los Angeles to Australia, Walker tracked down his dream car, and in the video, takes it out in the LA canyons to compare with today’s model. Let’s just say, we’d take either one.
