I’ve seen a few Mercedes-AMG GTs cruising around my town and they look fantastic. They also sound very good. In fact, they sound a lot like an American muscle car to my ears. Mercedes is teasing an even better looking and faster version of that car for a world premiere on June 24.
This version is the Mercedes-AMG GT R. No hard details are offered on the car, but we can see that it has a track-inspired interior in black with yellow stripes. The car is very green on the outside and looks fantastic.
It appears that the only major exterior change might be a larger rear wing, which is what it looked like from that earlier spy video at the Nürburgring. We are expecting significantly more power under the hood though, not that the 503 horses in the GT S are anything to sneeze about. Fortunately, we only have a few more days to wait until the car goes official. Until then feast your eyes on the teaser video.
Hopefully, we’ll get a drag race between an AMG GT R and a Nissan GT-R at some point soon.
