Porsche has always called its sports cars by a numerical name. We all know the 911, but back in the day there were the 914, 928, 944, and many others. Porsche has now revealed that it will be bringing back the 718 name for versions of the Boxster and Cayman.

I always thought the Cayman and Boxster were more along the lines of a modern 914. After all, the 718 was an tiny, open cockpit race car, so it’s hard to see the connection.
