I know I am not the only person who thinks that the Panamera is the ugliest of all the Porsche models being made today. Even the Cayenne is good looking for an SUV. The Panamera, on the other hand, isn’t an attractive car. Porsche is set to redesign the Panamera and is teasing us with a concept sketch and a teaser of its new rear end.

Porsche talks a lot about the courage to change in the verbiage that goes with the teaser video, but doesn’t show us anything else. Hopefully, that change is to a more attractive body style for the car.

Here’s how Porsche describes the new Panamera in its marketing materials:

β€œIt combines the performance of a thoroughbred Sports Car with the comfort of a luxury saloon – despite all conventions. Launch Control, rear axle steering and sports exhaust system – these racing features are available in the more powerful and more efficient new models. With the new Panamera, we once again show that we have the courage to change. You can tell by just looking at it. The silhouette and design language are more Porsche than ever. Like a sprinter in the starting blocks, it is just waiting to show exactly what it is capable of.

And because a Porsche is always oriented towards the future, the new Panamera models with Porsche Connect are equipped with intelligent, digital functions and are networked to the digital world.”

Porsche promises to offer more details, product highlights, and to show off the design soon. The concept drawing of the new Panamera shows something longer, lower, and sleeker than before, so hopefully that’s a good sign.
