I like to watch rally racing on occasion. Those drivers are some of the best in the world. I get a lot of anxiety watching the sport though because the fans seem to be insane and at times appear to want to die Death Race 2000 style.

Check out this video of a rally driver doing his thing when the quick release steering wheel fails. He calmly slows the car down, fiddles a bit with the wheel and when he realizes there is no way to fix it he grips the hub like a boss and drives on.

He wasn’t throwing the car around willy nilly, but he certainly wasn’t going on a Sunday drive. If this happened in NASCAR, they would have thrown a full course yellow and paused the action.
