Earlier this month, I talked a bit about a beat up little yellow Mazda Miata that some guys had purchased for 1000 Euros (~$1125 USD), dubbed the RingBanana.

Their objective was to make the car hit a 9:00 flat time on the Nürburgring, with as little money invested as possible. As-is, the car established a base time of 9:20. They started their mission by slapping on some r-compound Kumho V70A tires that they got for free, put a skilled driver behind the wheel, and hit the track.

The result was a lap time of 8:59.9 seconds, hitting the stated goal with nothing but a tire change. Sticky tires were one of my first suggestions. Now that they hit their goal that easily, the RingBanana will continue being modded to see just how fast a 90hp yellow Miata can go.
