Tesla Flaunts Summon and Autopilot Featureszoom in

I’m not deluding myself into thinking that I chose the right career path to allow me to buy a car that costs 6-figures. That means I won’t get to own a Model S, at least not until it depreciates by about 80%. Regardless, I am a big fan of the cool tech that Tesla is cramming into its cars, and the idea of a car that can have significant new features installed via a software update is very appealing.

Tesla has recently added a feature called “Summon” to the Model S, which allows the car to open the garage door at your house, back out of the garage and wait for you to get in. After work, it can park itself. The only kinks in the automation are the fact that you need to plug the car in and unplug it. Tesla is working on wireless charging to eliminate those kinks.

This new video shows off both Summon and the already well-publicized Autopilot feature. Both of these technologies are something that I really want on my car. If all cars had Autopilot, that idiot in front of me trying to read the paper and text in traffic would be far less worrisome.
