Being a child of the ’80s, I grew up with all sorts of shows on TV that had cars and trucks at the center of the shows. Shows like Dukes of Hazzard, Fall Guy, Hardcastle & McCormick, Automan, and a plethora of others. Cars were also heavily featured in my favorite movies, such as James Bond, and his Lotus Esprit that turned into a submarine. This is where my fondness for the Esprit came from.

Recently, bicycle builder Spencer Canon built a dead sexy Lotus Esprit that is not a restoration, but a restomod of sorts.

He says that the car was in such rough shape when he first bought it that he felt he could take liberties with the restoration and didn’t need to go all original. The blue color looks fantastic, and his modifications actually reduced weight from the original car.
