For a recent promotional stunt, Castrol teamed up with driver Matt Powers to take his car on a highly unusual drift run. You see, Matt couldn’t see where he was going while racing his 650hp Mustang. At least not in the real world. Instead, he had a VR headset strapped to his head, and he drove through a TRON-like CGI world filled with intimidating obstacles – like mountains emerging from the ground, falling boulders, and a special surprise that I won’t spoil for you.

Fortunately, for Matt, the action took place on a big abandoned runway, so he couldn’t get into too much trouble along the way. It’s a really cool idea – that I only hope someday will be turned into a ride that we can all enjoy.
