Newly Licensed Drivers Cause 77 Percent Family Insurance Hike

For a 16-year-old few things are as exciting as getting their first car – few things are as expensive as insuring that first ride either. Just adding a new driver to a family policy raises the premium an average of 77%, it’s 18% higher if the driver goes it alone, according to TheDetroitBureau.com.
