BMW has unveiled the newest member of the fabled M series of performance cars, and it looks pretty sweet. The rear-wheel drive M2 offers more torque than past generation M3 coupes and has some cool tech to boot. The engine is a M TwinPower turbo 3.0L 6-cylinder engine making 370 hp at 6500 RPM and pushes out 343 lb-ft. of torque. The engine has an overboost feature to bump torque to 369 lb-ft.
The M2’s standard transmission is a 6-speed manual with rev matching tech. When fitted with the manual the car needs 4.4 seconds to reach 60 mph. It will also be offered with an M dual-clutch transmission with launch control. When fitted with that transmission, the car can reach 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph.

BMW uses a wide track for the M2 with a lightweight aluminum suspension. The car is fitted with a fully variable Active M differential. Brakes are special Nurburgring tested M compound high performance units. The optional ConnectedDrive links with the GoPro app to let you film laps at a race track.
