Yesterday I mentioned that the 2017 Chevy Colorado would be getting a new V6 engine and 8-speed transmission. Unsurprisingly, its GMC Canyon twin will be getting the same powertrain for 2017. Along with the new V6 and 8-speed auto, the Canyon is also getting a new Denali version and an off-road flavored All Terrain X version.
The Denali is all about luxury with big 20″ aluminum wheels and lots of chrome accents. The interior is done up in jet black leather, with heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 7-speaker Bose sound system, and much more.
If you are into function over luxury, the All Terrain X may be the more appealing version. This model takes you off-road with special Goodyear DuraTrac all-terrain tires wrapped around 17″ aluminum wheels. It gets a special off-road suspension, a transfer case shield, a body colored grille and step bumper, and a unique interior with red stitching and heated seats. It also has hill descent control, round step bars, spray-on bedliner, all-weather floor liners, remote start, and automatic climate control.
Pricing and availability for both trucks is unannounced at this time, but they should hit dealers sometime in Q4 2016.
