Buick has rolled out a new utility vehicle that is aimed at active users, which is something different for a company mostly known for appealing to older buyers out there. Clearly, Buick wants to lure in a younger crowd. The Regal TourX is definitely a station wagon, but rides at a slightly higher than normal height, bridging the gap between SUV and wagon.
With an overall height of 58.4″, its roofline is about an inch taller than your average sedan, though it’s not clear that it’s got any added ground clearance. The car offers up to 73.5 cubic feet of space with the back seats folded, giving the TourX more overall cargo space than the Volvo V60 Cross Country and Subaru Outback. It also comes with standard roof rails and a hands-free power liftgate.
The TourX gets power from a 2.0L turbo four making 250 hp and 295 lb-ft torque, and comes with intelligent AWD with an active twin-clutch. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic.
Standard safety tech includes an active hood pedestrian safety system, front pedestrian braking, and lane keep assist. Pricing and launch information is unannounced at this time.
