Subaru has made some changes to the WRX and WRX STI for 2018. The cars get new interior materials, a quieter ride, a revised suspension, and other new options. All versions get a new front end design with a larger and lower grille opening. All models get an improved electric power steering system, designed to produce a more natural feel. 6-speed manual buyers get a revised shifter design which reduces friction and improves clutch take-up.
The WRX keeps the same 268 hp boxer four and starts at $26,995 with a manual transmission. Premium trim models get new 18-inch wheels and start at $29,295(USD). Those buyers can also add an optional Performance Package available for $2,050 only on 6-speed models. That package gets 8-way power Recaro front driver’s seat, upgraded JURID brake pads, and deletes the moonroof for weight savings.
The WRX Limited starts at $31,595 with a manual transmission and buyers can get a nav package for $2,100 on 6MT models that includes upgraded audio, blind spot detection, and rear cross traffic alert. If you want the full EyeSight package you need to buy a Limited with CVT, and add $3,300 to the price.
STI models start at $36,095 and come with a 305 hp 2.5L Boxer engine, along with yellow brake calipers, 6-piston Brembo front calipers, and 2-piston units rear. None of those prices include the destination and delivery charges.
