Ford has revealed the latest special edition of its iconic GT sports car. It’s called the 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition, and it’s a tribute to the Alan Mann Racing lightweight 1966 Ford GT experimental racing car. The car is painted in a unique red color with white and gold touches and lots of exposed carbon fiber.
The limited-edition GT uses dual over-the-roof racing stripes in Frozen White and wears the number 16 on the doors, hood, and underside of the rear wing. Along with the special livery, the new Heritage Edition has exposed glossy carbon fiber components, including its 20-inch wheels, front splitter, side sills, side mirrors, engine louvers, and rear diffuser.
Its interior features an instrument panel covered in ebony leather and Alcantara. The interior also has carbon-fiber trim and gold and red accent stitching on the ebony Alcantara wrapped carbon fiber seats. The instrument panel, door register bezels, and seat X-brace feature a gold appliqué bringing a splash of the exterior livery colors inside. Behind the steering wheel, the paddle shifters are painted the same red as the exterior.
The limited-edition Alan Mann Heritage Edition will be on display at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show this month, along with a 1966 Ford AM GT-1 prototype. Ford says the car is currently available to order by approved Ford GT customers, and deliveries will begin this quarter.
