It’s the season for SUVs, and Porsche has a couple of appealing options for those looking for an electric model. The carmaker has diversified its all-electric Macan range with the addition of the new entry-level Macan Electric and the upper-mid tier Macan 4S Electric.

Unlike the rest of the models in this range, the Macan Electric is rear-wheel drive only. It uses the same rear-axle motor found in the Macan 4 Electric. With launch control enabled, the motor can produce up to 355 horsepower and up to 415 lb-ft. of torque. The Macan Electric has a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.4 seconds and tops out at 136 mph.

The Macan Electric and the Macan 4S Electric share the same 100 kWh battery. The former has a max range of 320 miles, while the latter can go up to 299 miles. Both cars support DC fast charging up to 270 kW, which should take the battery from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes. On a 150 kW charger, you’ll have to give the cars about 33 minutes to get the same charge.

The Macan 4S Electric just below the top of the line Macan Turbo Electric. While it has the same front-axle motor as the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, it has a new rear-axle motor and a 600-amp SiC pulse inverter. This gives the Macan 4S Electric a maximum output of 509 horsepower and 578 lb-ft. of torque. The Macan Turbo Electric on the other hand maxes out at around 630 horsepower and 833 lb-ft. of torque.

That difference in power isn’t so bad once you hit the pavement. With launch control enabled, the Macan 4S Electric can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, and tops out at 149 mph. The Macan Turbo Electric does still edge it out, but a 0 to 60 mph of 3.3 seconds and 162 mph max speed isn’t an entire world of difference, especially for SUVs.

Both of these new SUVs come with adaptive air suspension and electronic damping control by default, and can be configured with rear-axle steering to improve cornering performance.

The Macan Electric and the Macan 4S Electric are also rocking a redesigned cockpit. They both have a 12.6 inch curved instrument cluster, a 10.9 inch passenger display, a central HUD, and customizable ambient lighting.

You can configure both SUVs on Porsche’s website, with deliveries expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year. The Macan Electric starts at $75,300, while the Macan 4S Electric starts at $84,900.
