I’ve been to a whole bunch of tracks around the U.S., but I’ve yet to drive on – or even visit the Virginia International Raceway (aka “VIR”) But if I ever have the good fortune to do it, I can assure you that my lap will never approach the sheer brilliance of this one driven by race pro Bill Auberlen.
Bill makes quick work of the 3.27-mile track’s twists, straights, and 18 turns from behind the wheel of his No. 25 BMW Team RLL BMW M6, pointing out the proper shift points, brake, and throttle application along the way. At least if and when I do drive VIR, I’ll be sure to study every second of this clip. Or I can hope that BMW sends me, and let’s me take a hot lap with Bill himself. That would be even better.
