The team at UK auto shop Eagle have a one-track mind, and it’s focused exclusively on Jaguar E-types. For more than three decades, Eagle has been restoring these exquisite cars, and they have now completed their trilogy of special edition E-types with the Eagle Spyder GT. The previous two Eagle special E-types earned the approbation of Jeremy Clarkson and the team at Top Gear, and the Spyder GT is a worthy successor.
With a raked windscreen and folding cloth roof, the Spyder GT comes equipped with a 4.7-liter straight six engine delivering 345 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Based upon an actual E-type chassis, the Spyder GT’s remaining elements are almost entirely custom. If pricing is similar to previous Eagle customs, expect the all-aluminum roadster to cost in the neighborhood of $1 million. The first of these bespoke beauties will be rolling out to lucky, well-heeled owners in the summer of 2016.
