Last year we reported on the awesome Exotics Racing experience located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which is situated about 20 minutes north of the Strip. Now a similar supercar-driving attraction is opening in Vegas whose hook is that you don’t have to drive all that far to drive really fast.
SPEEDVegas, which is set to open in January of 2016, is being developed on a 100-acre piece of land just a 10-minute ride from the world famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. Designed by the folks from World Class Driving, who arrange for speed lovers to drive awesome supercars on public roads, SPEEDVegas’ course is being modeled after Formula One tracks, and according to the builders will feature “rising elevation changes, sweeping turns and a straightaway that compares to the world’s top circuits.”
That’s all well and good, but what kind of car can I drive? The attraction is currently listing Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, Ford Shelby Mustang and the Corvette as the rides that will be in their stable. The artist’s rendering of the track also clearly show a sweet, whale-tailed Porsche Turbo, so I can only hope that will also be added to the lineup.
My advice – if you’re going to Vegas and have always wanted to put an exotic car through its paces on the track, hit SPEEDVegas before you hit the tables to make sure you’ve got enough cash to afford the ride of your life before Vegas does what it does best – empty your pockets.
