The Tokyo Motor Show is upon us, and some cool new cars are already starting to surface. First up is Mazda’s sexy sports coupe concept, dubbed the RX-VISION. While its name might sound like a pair of eyeglasses, the “RX” is an indication that it’s the next evolution of the RX-7 and RX-8 line of sports cars.
This sexy 2-door looks amazing, with a design that reminds me more than a little bit of the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, but sporting a more elongated hood and lowered roofline. But those exaggerations are likely to be unique to the concept, and unlikely to be something you’d see in a production car.
Mazda has revealed few details about the RX-VISION, but says that it will sport a new fuel-efficient rotary engine and drivetrain, dubbed “SKYACTIV-R.” Beyond that, we know it’s a rear-wheel drive, and that’s about it.
The Mazda RX-VISION concept will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show from 10/30 to 11/8/2015.
