Mercedes has announced the official U.S. pricing for its the awesome AMG GT R sports car. The ride has a base price of $157,000 plus another $995 for delivery and destination. For the money you get a beautiful car with a handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine with dry-sump lubrication.
That engine makes 577 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That is enough power to push the car from a standstill to 60mph in 3.5 seconds. The car is good for 198 mph topped out, and sticks to the ground better than other AMG GTs thanks to active aerodynamics, and a big wing out back. Its active rear wheel steering helps it corner on a dime too.
The AMG GT R will hit Mercedes dealers this summer. The cheapest 2018 AMG GT is the Coupe starting at $112,400, while the GT S Coupe will cost $132,000, and the GT C Edition 50 will cost $145,000. The GT Roadster starts at $124,400, and the GT C Roadster starts at $157,000. All those prices are before the $995 delivery and destination fees, and any options you decide to add, of course.
