I’ll admit it: I’m a bit of a Mercedes fan-boy. I’m impressed by the company’s history, respect the dedication to automotive safety, love AMG’s craziness and willingness to make stupid cars like the R63, and am also a sucker for the trappings of the wealthy and dangerous. Better yet, I always remember the most important rule:
I was sad to see the SLS AMG go. It was a sexy car with one of the most charming engines ever made. To date, the SLS AMG Black Series is the finest road car I’ve ever driven, and the only race car to actually remind me of a race car. The SLS AMG GT3 was also no slouch on the racing circuit, and I’m happy to say that this looks like a worthy successor. This is the Mercedes-AMG GT3, and it’s beautiful.
Better still is the news that a road-going version is probably on AMG’s to-do list. The Porsche 911 GT3 might have some serious competition.
