When you are thinking about high-end luxury cars that sell for over $100,000, Volvo isn’t exactly the first brand that comes to mind. Yet, the Volvo XC90 Excellence is just such a vehicle, despite the entry level XC90 selling for less than half that price. The MSRP of the Excellence starts at $104,900 and it might be the perfect car for those who prefer to be driven and don’t want to look so ostentatious.
For starters, Volvo duplicates the driver and front passenger seats for the second row. Those rear seats recline and have massage and ventilation built in. Increased legroom makes the back the best spot in this car.
The cabin is trimmed with open-pore wood, and the seats are wrapped in elegant, ventilated Nappa leather. There’s also a partition to separate the rear seats from the cargo area. Other amenities include a 1400w Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and extra sound insulation compared to the standard XC90.
Each seat has a retractable control touchscreen, folding tables and between them is a refrigerator with bottle and glass holders. The cup holders can even heat or cool drinks, and a set of handmade Orrefors crystal glasses are included.
